I am a doctor of veterinary medicine, specialising in rehabilitation and canine sports medicine. As a dog enthusiast with big interest in different spheres of cynology, there is no surprise I share my life with 4 dogs at the moment. We live in the northern part of Slovenia, in region called Koroška (Carintia). Dogs are my life - they take over my professional and my personal life and everything in between, but firstly and most of all, they are my family.
Since I was a little girl I've been in love with animals. Horses and dogs were always my favourite. Since I can remember I wanted to become a vet some day. That wish came true in 2017 when I finished my studies of veterinary medicine at Veterinary Faculty in Ljubljana. I had a lot of pets in my childhood (gold fish, turtle, parrot, rabbit), but my wish to have a dog was getting bigger and bigger every year. It came true for my 10th birthday when I got my first dog, a bernese mountain dog Melly. With Melly I learned all about taking care of dogs even though I was still a child. With Melly I also stepped into the world of breeding. Melly was my faithful companion throughout my childhood, my teenage years and also 3 and a half years of my study untill we lost her in March 2013, few days after her 13th birthday. She'll always have a special place in my heart as she has shown me how wonderful it is to share your life with a dog.
With Ruby, my second dog, I learned how to manage living with more than one dog at the time and I can say it is double fun. Ruby was Melly's daughter who we took back when her previous owners couldn't take care of her anymore. She gave me some wonderful memories I will always treasure.
And then came Ini. It's true she was already my third dog but having her as my first terrier I really learned A LOT about training dogs, more than in all 12 years before. With Ini has also begun my involvement in different cynologic spheres, other than breeding.
Through all these years I share with dogs I have fallen deeply into cynology and my area of interests has become wider. Breeding is the first cynologyc sphere I met back in 2003 when we had our first litter with Melly. Breeder was my mother, because I was still to young back then. Being involved with Melly's litter, taking care of puppies and watch them grow was really a wonderful experience and I knew that I want to have my own kennel someday. I made this wish come true in 2008 when I registred a kennel under the name Carynthia's. First litter under this name was born in 2009. I was also getting more and more intersted in dog sports, especially agility and canicross, but I didn't have appropriate dog for this kind of things. Melly and Ruby were already older ladies, so the only activities we had were walks, hikes and doing some tricks. The landmark year for me was the year 2012 when I got Ini, a perfect dog for all sorts of activites I had in mind. She is responsible for my deep engagement in cynology. As a slightly more demanding dog, I was taught a lot about the education and training of dogs, and I decided to share my knowledge to help other dog owners. As a sports enthusiast, I also took a step into the world of agility, where Ini and me are active competitors. I wanted to deepen and improve my practically acquired knowledge, and thus acquire two cynological licences: high-level agility instructor and canine basic obedience instructor.
I was thinking a lot about my journey after completing my studies. My wish is to acquire specific skills or to focus on a specific veterinary field. After completing my studies and obtaining a veterinary license, I enrolled in post-graduate education in the field of rehabilitation and physiotherapy of dogs through the University of Tennessee (CCRP-Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner). Why Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy? This area combines my greatest interests: veterinary, cynology and sports.
Professionally I work as a veterinarian and rehabilitation therapist in center Dogs4motion. We specialise in canine rehabilitation, physiotherapy and sports medicine. Other part of my work involves canine education. Together with a small team we run canine center PrimaPes, where I work as dog trainer for basic obedience and agility.
Breeding is my hobby, my passion. I enjoy taking care of little puppies and give them the best possible start in life.
I think learning never ends, so I am constantly trying to improve my knowledge on the fields that interest me and get the skills to best help my patients, clients and my own dogs.

Origin of our kennel name-Carynthia's
I wanted for my kennel name to mean and represent something, but it should also sound nice and international. We live in a northern part of Slovenia, in the region called Carinthia. I took the name and transform it a little bit, in the way that it still represents its origin.
We are members of KZS (Slovenian national kennel association), FCI (Fédération cynologique internationale), ŠKD Emona and Moj berni (Slovenian bernese mountain dog community).
